Our Mission

We have a deep understanding of what a successful trip to Washington, DC looks and feels like to students, chaperones, and teachers alike. We bring a vast knowledge to each of our custom itineraries. Regardless of the goal of the trip; to celebrate, to educate, or to discover new environments; we can design your time in Washington, DC that reflects your goals.

Quick Facts

  • We are guide-owned and operated, which means no middleman and subsequently lowers the cost

  • Your trip planner has guiding experience, translating to a deep understanding of timing and how to best move around the city

  • Your trip planner will likely be your guide on the ground

Pre-Trip

We start with an intake call to understand the goals of your trip to Washington, DC. The call is followed by a survey to gauge interest in certain attractions and activities. We encourage teachers to consider classroom learning and give higher preference to locations that reinforce classroom topics.

From there, SPN Tours will create an itinerary that meets the needs of all stakeholders; teachers, parents, students, and administrators. Once we come to agreement on the itinerary, the work is done! SPN Tours will make all the arrangements for a successful experience in Washington, DC, all you have to do is pack your bags.

On the Ground

Once on the ground, our focus is on delivering a quality experience that matches the goals of the trip. Luckily, your trip planner will most likely be your guide as well. We refer back to our initial intake call and the guide provides an experience that reflects the ultimate goal of the trip. All of our guides are licensed and trained to be responsive to the needs of the group rather than providing a step-and-repeat experience.

Post-Trip

During and after the trip, your guide and trip planner will take notes about what worked well, what didn’t and what experiences students were excited about. This information is compiled and used as a reference point when we are working on next year’s itinerary. Our goal is to be your partner in planning and hold the institutional knowledge year over year so teachers and administrators can focus on other things.

“His flexibility, attention to details and cooperation make him a delight to work with. If we have any sort of issue or schedule change on our trip, Nick handles it was ease and persistence.”
