Our Story

Growing up in a large Greek-American family, Maria and Nick were six years apart but often found common ground with each other. When Maria came to Washington, DC to intern as a tour guide, Nick quickly followed in Maria’s footsteps. Fourteen years later, and hundreds of groups guided, SPN Tours was created and named after their vivacious grandmother.

Having both started their careers with the National 4-H Youth Conference Center Maria and Nick learned at a young age how to engage students in learning while managing an itinerary on the ground. During 2020, many student travel companies closed their doors. It felt like the perfect moment to start their own company and work with schools as more than just guides, bringing their expertise to full-service trip planning. Their understanding of moving a large group of students around the city is an invaluable asset that many other companies do not posses.

Four years later, we are still here and excited to tour your students around Washington, DC!
